In
1923 the original function of the Student Congress was very
similar to SAA's function today. At that time Student Congress
served as both the voice of the student body and as the programming
board for the campus.
As the campus grew and the needs
of the students changed another organization formed to fit
the demands of bringing entertainment to SFA. In 1960 University
Center Programs was established. The President at that time
served a duel role as UC Programs President and as Chair of
the board for UC Operations untill 1981 when the University
Center was first renovated.
With the establishment of an
office of Student Activities and a separate office of Auxiliary
Services the Campus Entertainment Organization was formed.
It wasn't until the mid 90's that the name "Student Activities
Association " came in to use |
